From: Wilson Pettibone on 10 Jun 2005 19:11 I've really had it with the bloated, buggy software on the Windows platform and I have finally made the decision to move over to Linux because all the software I need is free. I've been test driving some Linux software for the last couple of weeks and truthfully I can't find anything that my Linux software can't do that the others with Windows can do. I plan on using the following for tracking, mixing and mastering: Ardour http://ardour.org/ This program just ROCKS!!! Audacity for Mastering: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Which comes with about 200 plugins for mastering. Rosegarden for MIDI: http://www.rosegardenmusic.com/ I have been using all of these programs under Mepis Linux and I can't say enough good about them. Super stable and great. So long DONGLES, Serial numbers and other BS and hello to the freedom of Linux. My LEGAL versions of Sonar 4 Producer and Cubase SX3 will be up on ebay shortly. Wilson Pettibone
From: Wilson Pettibone on 10 Jun 2005 19:46 Well I must admit I wasn't prepared for the ostrich syndrome, and I was quite confused concerning your somewhat idiotic statements. However, a quick call to Cakewalk confirmed that the EULA prevents the resale of the product. Now that really SUCKS.. Well, now I know why people are pirating Sonar all over the place. Still, I will amend my sale to include a letter of transfer(useless, except in court) and will clearly state that the product will NOT be able to be updated as per the EULA. I will also NEVER, EVER, buy another Cakewalk product again. A call to Steinberg produced the exact opposite results. Maybe that dongle isn't so bad after all, at least THEY consider you the OWNER of the product. And BTW NONE of this will stand up in court. In addition, your website sucks, your music is even worse, you look like a chicken with that haircut and I'll bet you own more than a few pirated copies of software right from alt.binaries.sounds.utilities. BTW didn't Jesus say something about casting the first stone? He also said something along the lines of being in the world but not of it. IOW why the christian/secular thing? One pays the bills and the other is just in case? In addition, I played with many contemporary christian bands back in the 70's, when CCM was brand new and you want to know something? Most of them were complete phonies who weren't good enough to make it in secular music (Dave Boyer, not a phony btw, for example) so they "found the Lord"...... Dave fashioned himself a Sinatra clone...... The list is very long..... So *I* suggest *you* lose your attitude, change your name to retro-bod (your hair has to go) and move on with the Lord and life and maybe, if you are lucky you might get to play a big room some day.....
