From: db.·.. > ))) ·>` .. . on 16 May 2008 17:37 if i'm not mistaken job costing is offered as an accounting course at your local college or community college. however, you might want to google for something like "what is job costing". in regards to setting up the company for maintaining, analyzing and billing costs, you will need spreadsheets and an accounting software. there are many software's out there. but due to this newsgroup being microsoft, then i would suggest microsoft office for spreadsheeting, documents, etc. then you might want to look at the microsoft accounting software. both of the above can be found at microsoft.com ------- as a final thought, perhaps there is a job costing template available from microsoft.com template site. not sure if there is, but worth a shot. ------- incidentally, job costing is only "one" of many accounting aspects required for service related business's. unless the boss is paying you in pebbles, it doesn't sound like you are in-between a cloud and a bed of roses. -- db·´¯`·...¸><)))º> "Help Masonry Co. needs help" <Help Masonry Co. needs help(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:AA6F9E85-A8D2-4E28-AFCF-153512BC259A(a)microsoft.com... > we are a masonry co. just starting out. From: Echo S on 17 May 2008 10:56 These are not really what you need, but what the heck: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=job+costs&av=TPL000 http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4ADBR_enUS254US254&q=%22job+costing%22 is probably a better place for you to be looking. There is actual job costing software (there are some links to it on that page), or perhaps you'll find an Excel spreadsheet there that you can modify. There's also this set of search terms: "job costing" construction http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4ADBR_enUS254US254&q=%22job+costing%22+construction -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx "Help Masonry Co. needs help" <Help Masonry Co. needs help(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:AA6F9E85-A8D2-4E28-AFCF-153512BC259A(a)microsoft.com... > we are a masonry co. just starting out.
