Hello to everyone!

You probably noticed the smarty.php.net site has been moved to
www.smarty.net. This is a long time coming, I've been wanting to host
the smarty site locally and this part of that move. Also, the repository
and mailing lists are moving.

Effective immediately, the Smarty mailing lists have a new home as
Google Groups. If you want to continue to get mailing list emails,
please subscribe to the new lists, and unsubscribe from these old ones
(lists.php.net), as they are no longer going to be active. Here they are:

old list address -> new list address

smarty-general(a)lists.php.net -> smarty-discussion(a)googlegroups.com
smarty-dev(a)lists.php.net -> smarty-developers(a)googlegroups.com

If you prefer, you can view and participate in the lists via the web.
Here are the web interfaces for the new lists, and also where you get
subscribing instructions:

http://groups.google.com/group/smarty-discussion
http://groups.google.com/group/smarty-developers

The Smarty forums are the where most of the discussion happens anymore,
and the mailing lists have died down to a whisper. But, these Google
Groups will remain available for the foreseeable future.

The Smarty CVS repository has also been updated to SVN! and has a new home.

old list address -> new list address
smarty-cvs(a)lists.php.net -> smarty-svn(a)googlegroups.com

Or, view the SVN list via the web:
http://groups.google.com/group/smarty-svn

The SVN repository has a new checkout procedure:

svn checkout http://smarty-php.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ smarty-php-read-only

You can browse the SVN repository via the web here:

http://smarty-php.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/

NOTE: The SVN repository is still synchronizing all the historical data,
it will be done within a few hours.

Have a good day, and happy new year! :)

Not sure when the old lists will die, hopefully not just yet...

Is it possible to subscribe to a Google Group using a non-Google email
address? I do have a Google account but want mailing list traffic to
come to my normal mail client as the old list did. I couldn't see a way
to do it from a quick search, but likely someone here knows the answer
and there's probably others like me who will now want to know.

I have just done it, send email to:

smarty-discussion-subscribe(a)googlegroups.com

It will return to you with a web link to click to confirm.

Ditto the other lists.
