i want to replace my ambit wireless cable modem. (sick of paying rent)

One of my computers in another room has very low signal strength to the
modem, would like to get one with better power.

Any suggestions?

Cheers
Dave

Improve the antenna; e.g., <http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/Ez-10/>

I purchased the D-Link DCM-202 cable modem from Target. It was on sale for
approx. $30 and it has worked flawlessly for me. Whatever Cable modem you
decide to purchase, you will still have to notify your ISP to have them
register your particular cable modem on their network.

John,

Thanks for the antenna link.
I may need to do that, but I still would like to buy my own wireless
modem to get rid of the monthly charges.
First I need to get a wireless modem, then decide what to do with the
signal strength.
Hoping to hit a home run and get a modem with more signal strength and
not need the antenna modification.

Cheers

Dave
