I do have Adio and Visual CODECS correctly installed when I look at Control Panel/Sound & Audio devices/Hardware Can anyone advise a way for someone not very technical to bring my avi files into a powerpoint presentation please PETER JPB
From: Sonia on 13 Feb 2005 11:10 See the information at http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm . Chances are that Real Media has hijacked your MCI settings, so read section 3 and do a careful comparison of the settings on your system to the listings in the tutorial. -- Sonia Coleman Microsoft PowerPoint MVP Team Autorun Software, Templates and Tutorials http://www.soniacoleman.com "Peter J P Barwell" <peter.barwell(a)btinternet.com> wrote in message news:%23uv3u$dEFHA.960(a)TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > Dear Community > > When I try to insert *.avi files into Powerpoint I am always advised > "Microsoft Powerpoint cannot display this type of sound or movie" > > I have Real Player Version 10.5 > I also have Windows Media Player Version 10.00.00.3646 > > I run Powerpoint 2002 (10.2623.2625) > > My avi files play perfectly on both Real Player and Mindows Media Player. > > I do have Adio and Visual CODECS correctly installed when I look at Control > Panel/Sound & Audio devices/Hardware > > Can anyone advise a way for someone not very technical to bring my avi files > into a powerpoint presentation please > > PETER JPB >
