"Vista...with SP1" (AKA Vista SP1) wasn't released to manufacturing until 04 February 2008. The updates were included in/part of your Vista SP1 (OEM) installation CD. I bought this laptop in April 2004: It came with WinXP SP1 preinstalled but it has some updates & files with "installed" or "created on" dates going back to 2002.
