From: Mike G on 18 Jun 2008 21:19 Sony Vaio VGN-A117S. XP Home SP2 Aquired a s/h Sony bluetooth mouse VGP-BMS30. Just the mouse. No s/ware or instructions if there are any. Anyway switched it on. Laptop doesn't find it using the bluetooth connection app in 'control panel'. Pressed the 'connect' button on the mouse, still no joy. My question is, is there a particular installation procedure, or should I be looking elsewhere for the problem? Could the mouse be at fault, if so how can I check it? Tried googling for answers without any joy. TIA. Mike.
From: tc on 18 Jun 2008 21:59 The Bluetooth mice I've dealt with turn on a light when they are in discovery mode(press the connect button). You do that first and then have your computer Bluetooth application search for it. Once found, it is automatic after that. Are the batteries in the mouse ok? New batteries, and it still fails to get found after pressing the 'connect' button. Thanks for the interest. Mike.

According to the indicator light on the laptop it is, but it does look like that whatever wrong, it's not the mouse. The laptop also doesn't 'see' my bluetooth phone, whereas my PC does. > > that is not switched off by a hotkey or button. > Is bluetooth enabled in BIOS? That I haven't checked. I'll check that tomorrow. Thanks. Mike.
