Years ago, when I bought a Dell laptop with Windows ME on it and became miserable, I called up Dell, and they offered to ship me a replacement hard drive with Windows 98 on it. I admit I have no clue as to whether they still help unhappy customers get earlier versions, but I see indications that they were providing XP CDs as recently as a few months ago. Since it is an option to buy an XT with XP TPCE, and since I had in my hands not ten days ago an XT with TPCE 2005, I'm pretty sure they will support XP on the XT, if it is installed by their guidelines. What they might not support is people buying one configuration and trying to go with a different configuration without the right resources. Did the media that was used to install XP on the machine come from Dell, and was it intended for that device? TW -- minimage
