From: B Thomas on 11 Dec 2006 18:24 Hi, After reading some reviews of Digital SLR cameras in the 500$ range I am begining to like Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50. I use linux exclusively. So I would like to know if this camera is compatible with linux. Also would appreciate what to look for to ensure linux compatibility. Is Picture Transfer Mode enough. regards b thomas

You can always read the flash card with a USB card reader. That's what I prefer myself as it's faster than accessing the camera directly, and I can use regular filesystem tools (cp) to retrieve the pictures. -- Mns Rullgrd mru(a)inprovide.com

And there's always the card reader option, which should be a lot faster than the camera connection. Michael
