Thanks Sean! On 1) no, I want to lock the rectangle so the user can't resize
the window, that would be best. I am putting up a 640x480 box on the screen,
and there is no need for the user to resize that but by default they can. On
2) well I wish I had the time to learn Lingo right now but i just need to
express this:
on mouse up
open (camtasia.exe)
Thats it! I keep getting all kinds of syntax errors but I really am not a
coder but a designer - ha!
On 3) works great, thanks!

Mark, its not camtasia itself! just a camtasia "projector" so perhaps i will
rename the camtasia projector to something like content.exe. I know it's going
to be there cause I am putting it on the DVD! I am using menumaker there to
create menus to open up content like PDFs, word docs, other movies! ha, if i
had Director 11 moons ago I probably would have done the entire thing in this
cool app, but alas the content is built and ready to go, I just need to use
Director to create a snazzy splash screen to front end the boring menumaker
screens, and that's why i really need to get this open command working, where
no matter what I say, I get this:
script error - handler definition expected
_player?.exe name <- no matter what I put here.
I must not be getting something! thanks again for you help. But all I am
trying to do is to kick off something called
content.exe
that is sitting in the same directory as the projector.

Hi! While I am on a roll, here is one more question:
I am creating flash in AfterEffects, and importing into the Director cast. Is
it better to have the soundtrack for the flash as a separate cast member, or as
part of the flash coming out of AE, or does it matter?
thanks again!!!

Well, that almost works! It still leaves the user with a "maximize button" on
the window, and if they click that it looks wonky. Is there anyway to get rid
of the maximize button? Then all would be grand. I noticed that the minimize
button is grayed out...

cheers!
