From: Ramey on 9 Apr 2008 15:54 My "K" Key broke on my HP DV1050, what should I expect to pay for this one key? The spring holder system on the board seems ok. I found a new one on the web for $7 not including shipping but I think I can beat that. Do local compter servicing shops keep things like keys? Thanks! R. Hamm

Any used computer stores near you rather than a "service shop" ? How about taking some other - never used key (~) off another part of the keyboard - and putting it on there ( K) for now ? Buying one key online - odds are they wouldn't exactly match your shape/color etc. Connectland PS2 keyboard, 108 Keys, Black/Silver Color $4.98 + shipping Ebay item # =260227362609

Can't remember now ... a bit of judicious googling might find it ...

Laptop keyboards are often 100 bucks from the manufacture. That is about 50 pounds. This laptop I am using now only cost $499 after rebate. So one keyboard costs about 20% of the total cost of the laptop. On eBay they can be found for about 30 bucks or 15 pounds for many models. -- Bill |
