using KMail 1.9.6 on Kubuntu 7.10
I would like to configure views so that the Inbox has columns showing
sender, Subject and date, and the Sent folder (I have an IMAP account)
shows the Receiver, the subject and the date. I can't seem to find a way to
do this.
Can anyone help?

My KMail is set up (something) like this, so it's do-able.

Right-click the folder/s - select properties. Right-click the column
headings.
