From: hairymon on 18 Apr 2008 12:55 I have a Lenovo X60 tablet. When it first enters Windows XP, it shows a keyboard on the screen and then disappears. This is normal. But now it shows the keyboard without any keys on it before disappearing. Is this something I should be concerned about? What would cause this?

From: Hal Hostetler [MVP P/I] on 21 Apr 2008 15:41 Missing keys on the TIP keyboard is often an indication of a .NET installation problem. I just experienced this, the result of a different problem involving the wireless adapter and a blue screen loop. When I fixed the blue screen problem, I found that the TIP keyboard was blank and I couldn't use ink in OneNote anymore. In my case, .NET 2 was trashed by (I assume) the blue screen reboot loop; I couldn't use, uninstall, re-install or repair the .NET package. The way I fixed this was by installing the Windows Installer Cleanup utility, removing .NET with it, re-installing .NET and letting Windows Update add the SP1 package for it. This fixed both the TIP keyboard and the OneNote problem. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility Hal -- Hal Hostetler, CPBE -- hhh(a)kvoa.com Senior Engineer/MIS -- MS MVP-Print/Imaging -- WA7BGX http://www.kvoa.com -- "When News breaks, we fix it!"
