Hi all,
I tried to use an LCD monitor with Linux (RH, WS 3) . It worked well
with a CRT monitor but when I connect an LCD monitor (Benq) , nothing
is displayed on the screen, the monitor says 'Out of range ". LCD
works correctly with other PCs.

Thanks in advance.

Wills,

Do you have this problem in X-Windows (graphical environment) only or
also in the text mode environment?

If only in graphical mode, try following:

- start your system
- stop auto booting by grub
- edit the kernel line in the grub menu, add a 1 at the end of the line
- boot into linux
- run setup and choose xconfiguration

Kind regards,

Thanks .
I tried to add a '1' to the kernel line but it says some other errors.
Thanks.

I changed the monitor from the one which was present during Linux
installation.Nothing is shown on the monitor. It seems , linux
cannot
detect and automaticaaly find the driver for new CRT display
connected . Only if I can login I may try to configure the new CRT
display. As I am not at all able to login, how can I proceed.First I
tried with an LCD monitor but it didn't work. I thought there may be
incompatibility with the LCD . Now I connected a new CRT display ,
still the problems continue.

Thanks in advance.

Which Linux distro are you using?
