I'm running Sun Java Enterprise Directory Server 6.

What I need to do is have two sets of users within the same group. One
set is read/write the other set is read-only. Is this possible in
LDAP?

Probably, but you need to explain exactly what things should be
only readable by the one set of users.

Entries within the LDAP database? Files on the disk drives?
