I have only recently noticed in my Registry the term "Legacy" - what program
introduced this term, can it be "Defender" and to what use is this in
computing?

Try a newsgroup for your version of Windows. This is a .NET programming
group.

Here's how to get there via the web interface:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx

Click the + beside your language. then scroll down to Windows. In Windows,
find the category for your version of Windows. Open it and find a group for
your question.
