From dmesg at failed startup with -rc4 on a SLES10 installation:

>udevd[853]: init_udevd_socket: error getting socket: Address family not supported

Note that 2.6.19-rc3-git7 boots/runs fine on exact same setup,
with the exact same .config (attached).

This is SUSE EL 10, with udev-085-30.10.
