Could I solve my Dell battery problems by switching to Linux? I have a Dell Inspirion whose battery died on me. I bought a OEM replacement but now my Laptop refuses to recognize it. Says "incompatible battery" I tried solving this problem from my existing Win XP OS but no luck. Ataptec SCSI card problem [solved] I replaced aptaptec to LSI 20320IE, everything works perfectly. My advise, DO NOT USE adaptec :) . optical drives oddity ? I install sidux on this box and all seems to go ok with no error messages...I do an update/upgrade and reboot and all is still ok... ...I switch off and leave overnight and when I reboot although the cd/dvd is called for in /etc/fstab they are both missing in /dev and I cannot use the reader or writer...This doe... 2 Apr 2008 08:58
