What's the point of /mime email ?!
From several mailing lists which previously posted good plain text mails, I now receive [apparently crappy] mime format: like with line terminators [apparently random] showing '=0D=0A' ..etc. Q1 - what's their point of not just continuing to use plain text ? Q2 - how can I decode it after d/l ie. without ch... 16 Jan 2008 09:11

Power-Line Ethernet: RF Interference? Secure?
On Jan 12, 1:18 pm, Gary Morrison <mr88...(a)texas.net> wrote: How secure is power-line-based Ethernet? Newer products support encryption. Does it hose up radios and such? USEFUL perl SCRIPT: NTP verifier
Over the years, I have had many problems with NTPd stopping to work without any notice. That always upset me. I finally wrote a perl script that checks times among various servers and computes a time offset for each of them. It can either report that, or it can also set exit code based on whether all these offsets ... 15 Jan 2008 12:48

Sync iptables-rulesets
hi, I am using fail2ban on a server in the LAN to block connections from suspicious servers. that works very well. Now I want to block those ip-addresses already at the (otherwise forwarding) gateway. I.e., I am looking for a method to synchronize the iptables-rulesets or, better, to synchronize fail2ban. No... 13 Jan 2008 16:46
