hi,

go to Phone, by pressing Green Call button

then choose Menu -> OPTION ->Broadcast Channels -> make it Enable, press
SETTINGS ->
activate the "Receive channel List"
press "NEW" button then
put District into NAME field and
30 into CHANNEL Number, Re-start you phone.. you will start receiving
location information based on signal tower got selected by phone..

Got a HTC P3600, so....
Yup, did all that. (plus check the 'district' check box)
but where does the info get displayed?

try googling "cell broadcast on HTC Touch" - there's a description of
what is required.
Jitesh has already replied showing you, but India may have a different
code. It's 050 (or 50) in Australia
google has a lot of info on "cell broadcast"

Following on from the last post, it may depend on your provider if you
actually get any SMS cell broadcasts. They mightn't have that facility
