Anyone else experiencing lockups when attempting to install Catalyst 6.10?

The download unpacks ok but locks up once the red ATI page appears on
screen. I've tried installing the separate drivers and control centre
downloads and had success installing the control centre only. It appears the
driver side is what's causing me problems.

regards,

Rod

Should have said but the PCIe is a ATI Radeon X1300.

Rod have you tried running ATI uninstaller. You'll find it where you
installed your drivers. Usually Program Files/ATI/Uninstall
This will remove almost ever trace of anything ATI on your PC. Beware it
also removes any ATI demos or screensavers, which really pissed me off when
I ran it before installing the 6.10 drivers. JLC

I ran the uninstaller but still couldn't get 6.10 to install. I eventually
used PC Angel lite to re-install MCE 2005. I tried again but still it did
not want to know. I did another fresh install of MCE then installed the
separate downloads for drivers and 6.10 before finally getting the update
home. A bit strange but it's working ok now. Thank you JLC for your reply.
