From: papageorgio on 21 Jun 2008 22:50 Hi everyone, My firm is looking to either purchase or hire out the creation of a drm solution that works with our server (email activation of our director file). We love the way Adobe does their activation (clean and simple) if you know who they use that would be great or if you know of something off the shelf that can solve this for us that would be good too. We would also be interested in hiring this out to a freelancer who would want to take this on. We would want someone with a track record that could build this for us. Looking forward to your feedback. P
From: Ideas Live on 22 Jun 2008 14:50 We have the solution you may be looking for. It works similarly to Adobe activation. On the server side, it uses a java servlet, but could also be written in PHP. On the client side, it use a custom xtra. We've done this for several of our products. From: Skeeto on 24 Jun 2008 03:31 Hi It all depends on how "waterproof" you want the DRM to be. It may not be as easy as it sounds and in my humble opinion it's a project beyond a freelance scope. Many things have to be considered, like re-activation, re- installation, trial period, subscription/buy model, change of account email etc. There are some solutions out there, however like above poster said, in Director you'd have to use a custom xtra. (and be willing to keep this up to date through platform updates) Over the years we have developed a system for this on the pc platform/ windows mobile. FYI http://www.digistarter.com All the best Skeeto
