I got to use one recently although it was on a briefcase gig so I didn't get
a chance to get in depth with it. I did find it VERY simple to use right
from the word go and only had to ask the house guy for help twice but only
then because I was short of time and could easily have found out what I
wanted to know if I'd had time to fiddle. Sound was warmer than a lot of the
digital boards, no noise issues and I was pleased to see that when you clip
a channel they've set it so you have plenty of headroom once the clip light
comes on and don't get nasty digital clipping. Guitarist turned up so I had
to back his channel off a bit as he was tickling the overload lights (the
flashy things that tell you how much signal you have for those of us
unfortunate to be blessed with the superhuman hearing claimed by one Arnold
Krueger where he doesn't need to use any metering as he can hear voltages).
Effects/dynamics on the board were good and easy to use and I would
recommend the iLive for a venue where you get visiting dinosaur engineers
who haven't got used to digital yet as it is a really easy board to use
right from the get go.
