From: isw on 25 Jun 2008 13:36 We have a Blue-and-White running 10.4.11 that has recently developed a very odd connectivity problem. Firefox works, Mail works, Adium's *messaging* works, but... Apple Software Update, iTunes Store and Adium's auto-update do *not* work. Console reports a failure message that begins : NSError "can't connect to host" D=NSURL Error Domain Code= -1004 UserInfo={..." This Mac is on a small LAN behind a firewall, but all the other Macs on the LAN have no such problem. Suggestions? Isaac

I'd not be quite that drastic. I'd go to the Network prefpane and re-enter the DNS server information and click "apply now" first.

I'll try it, but would either one of you have an opinion on why it's possible to browse just fine with Firefox if the DNS is broken? Isaac
