From: Neil Rutman on 14 Sep 2006 14:52 Hey All, I own the MP3 encoder from Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 but do not have it installed. Anybody know how to install just the encoder into Sonar 5? TIA Neil R

From: Steve Karl on 14 Sep 2006 22:11 Neil, I'd recommend to get the lame encoder, and razorlame.exe as a front end. I've tried quite a few encoders over the yrs. and it's top notch for quality. Both free. Middle of this page has both with instructions. http://www.trudyholler.com/pages/download_razorlame.html It can probably also interface with Sonar but I use it as stand alone. From: Neil Rutman on 15 Sep 2006 23:49 Thanks Steve. I was able to load the cakewalk encoder and it seems to sound pretty good so I think I'll stick with it - unless you think that lame sounds vastly superior? Hi Neil, It's been a long time since I tried any others and I'm no sure if I ever tried the cakewalk one. ~If~ you hear any difference at all between the .wav file and the mp3 then you might want to try lame. I can't seem to hear any difference between a 24/48 wav and a 160 encoded in lame, but I'm old. <G> Steve "Neil Rutman" <neilrutman(a)bigfoot.com> wrote in message news:RaGdnXT1mdHH6ZbYnZ2dnUVZ_oCdnZ2d(a)speakeasy.net... > Thanks Steve.
