Actually MS is in the process of doing this now. The reader filter
should be available before Xmas from what I have been reading. It
shouldn't be that hard for MS software writers as there is documentation
for all the coding available without having to jump through the hoops
that MS makes others go through for their documentation.

Maybe MS is trying hard to find a way to make the conversion not work as
expected and cover their tracks at the same time. Of course they are
using an outside agency to write the code.

There is a plugin for viewing ODF files in a browser. I don't have the
link.
