From: Ben Myers on 24 Apr 2008 16:22 I have the latest OpenOffice on my laptop, because I'll be damned if I'll pay $350 to billg and steveb for Office 2007 with its fairly crummy interface. I have not pushed OpenOffice really hard, but it does the jobs I need for basic documents and simple spreadsheets. If you are a fan of Microsoft's stupid basic code embedded in spreadsheets, forget about OpenOffice. And there must be other Microsoft quirks and oddities that OpenOffice won't handle. OpenOffice also reads and writes documents and spreadsheets in Word DOC and Excel XLS formats, if you have to send someone a doc or spreadsheet...
