From: Helen on 28 Apr 2008 06:45 I have a task with 9 sub-tasks all of which are marked 100% complete but the task shows only 99% complete. All but one of the tasks have a tick next to them to show they are complete but the task with no tick still shows 100%. I have tried to re-enter them all as 100%, tried removing a dependency, there are no resources attached to this sub-task. Any ideas?

Helen, This seemingly ironic condition is not all that uncommon. There can be various reasons why the summary percent complete doesn't seem to gibe with the subtasks. You'll just have to do a little investigating. To troubleshoot, display the Actual Finish field. Do all subtasks have a date (i.e. non-NA)? If one doesn't, find out why. Or, display the Actual Duration field. Percent complete for a summary line is calculated by Project as the sum of actual durations for all subtasks divided by the sum of durations for all subtasks, converted to percent. Either of the above should help point to the subtask that is causing the condition. Hope this helps. John Project MVP
From: Dean C on 28 Apr 2008 13:15 Display the actual finish date, actual work and work fields and verify that there is an actual finish date for all tasks and no work listed for the summary task (or at thesummary level, the value equals the sum of the subtasks. If at some time, you had a resource assigned to what is now the summary task, there can be hours at the summary level even if the resource is deleted. If you can delete or modify work at the summary level, make the value corrrect.
