Normal to see Backups.backupdb as a folder on a Time Machine drive? Is it normal to see Backups.backupdb as a folder on an external HD used for Time Machine? I'm surprised it's not showing up as a bundle. It seems like this makes the backup too easily messed with by newbies and software that looks for an available app and doesn't care where it's located. authentication service did not complete successfully I have 10.4.11. I installed the latest security update. When it restarted, it hung 20 minutes with the spinning gear. I held the button to shut down, hoping I wasn't causing a disaster. Then it started fine.
