Computer turns on unexpectedly I've lately taken to shutting down my iMac (running 10.5.4) at night, because of electricity problems in my aparatment (I always used to keep it on but asleep). automount startup Who starts automount on Tiger? I've looked under the launch folders and don't see it, and my superior knowledge of Linux/Solaris, etc makes me look under /etc, but I can't find it there, either. Why did they do this? My MacBook came with 1 gb of ram, in the form of two 512 cards filling both slots. Why didn't they just fill one slot with 1gb so I can just add another gb without having to purchase another extra 512 worth in order to max out to 2g? NetBeans 6 v Spaces I just noticed that the NetBeans 6 (I don't know about any other versions) can not be assigned a "Space" in preferences. In addition, once NetBeans is running, clicking the Dock icon does not bring me to the Space for NetBeans and using Command-Tab does not bring me to the NetBeans space. It just took over five minutes for the KB's pause button to work in iTunes Impressive. It usually only takes about 30 seconds for it to work when this Mac's display is asleep. But just now - a little over five minutes for this Mac to recognise that input.
