From: Zebranet on 1 Feb 2006 12:27 Hello to one and all. I am looking for a good resource for RPM files for Mandriva 2006. I already am using easy urpmi, but it doesn't have everything that I need sometimes or has an outdated version of something, I.E. firefox. Also, when I go to easyurpmi.zarb.org under the heading "Core Distribution" and "Other Sources" there are drop down menus that list multiple sites. Not to ask a dumb question, but are these different sites with different available packages or are they all mirrors of the same packages? Cheers!

What do you mean by outdated? Frequently a program itself will have a newer version than what's provided by the distribution or its contributors. Other places you can go are sourceforge.net, freshmeat.net & google, which will help you find the developer site for each thing you want. Or, you could wait until newer versions are available. If you want Mandriva to add a newer version, then join Mandriva's club and vote for the newer version. > Also, when I go to easyurpmi.zarb.org under the heading "Core > Distribution" and "Other Sources" there are drop down menus that list > multiple sites. Hi, You can take a look at http://seerofsouls.com/ There you can find newer packages for KDE, Gnome, Xchat, Xfce, E17, Gimp, Firefox and much more. You can also download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/ > Also, when I go to easyurpmi.zarb.org under the heading "Core > Distribution" and "Other Sources" there are drop down menus that list > multiple sites.
