From: Beef on 1 Mar 2006 11:14 Another little problem I'm having with a second system I'm trying to get going... I downloaded and burned the Mandriva-One-Occident-2006-0.1-CD.iso image and booted in an old discless HP vectra (733MHz PII) that was lying around. It gets as far as "Freeing unused kernl memory", then goes into a Kernel Panic. The message suggests "try passing init= option to kernel", like the last few lines of a picture I found on the internet: http://scarabeille.free.fr/images/mdv-one_kernel-panic.jpg Any ideas how to get round this? I thought that maybe I could mount the iso file as a loopback, but there's not much in the way of config files or docs to help me out... Beef.

Even if it wasn't beta, live CD distros are a hit-and-miss affair in my experience. I've tried several of them in the past(including Mandrake Move), but only Knoppix booted successfully. -- RLU #407952

Might try downloading it and testing it out. -- The box said: Requires Windows 98 or better, So I installed Linux! Might try downloading it and testing it out. The download page at Mandriva was updated in 1 March, but all the download mirrors still have files dated 24 February. :-( Beef.

Give things time to sync. It doesn't happen instantly. By tomorrow morning the new Beta 2 should be there. -- The box said: Requires Windows 98 or better, So I installed Linux!
