Hi, if /var/log/packages has only one package (the one we want to
remove), removepkg will stay for eternity at the line:

cat_except $ADM_DIR/packages $PKGNAME | sort -u > $TMP/required_list$$

ciao.

You need to give us moe information. How exactly are you running
Slackware with just this one package in place? You mentioned something
about an additional Linux distribution, so the waters are exceptionally
muddy at the moment. There's no way for u to replicate the bug, since
as another poster pointed out, Slackware shouldn't even be running with
only a single package installed (that package would have to be pkgtools
after all, if you have removepkg installed).
