From: Ramiro Ponferrada on 17 Mar 2008 00:11 Hello, I can´t find the Windows Update Icon in my Moto Q 8 GSM with Windows Mobile 6. So I don´t know if my cell is upgrading automatically or not at all. The build in my cell as of March 17th is version 18325.0.6.3 Does anybody know how I could recover the icon on my cell ? Thanks, Ramiro
From: Sven on 17 Mar 2008 10:38 If it is just a matter of finding it, it is normally on the bottom of the System tab in Settings. If it is not there, possibly Moto left the link off. I expect there may be some reg hack to put it back as it is part of the OS. It wouldn't be as easy as creating a shortcut for a program, as this is a control panel item. Don't lose sleep over this though. To this point, nothing, absolutely nothing, has been delivered over Windows Update on any WM device. I expect it is due to the contractual agreements MS has with the OEMs and carriers. You got WM from them not MS, and MS probably isn't allowed to change what the OEM/carrier provided. So until you see a post here, or on some other WM forum, saying 'Hell must have frozen over, an update via Windows Update is available', don't worry much about it. -- Sven MVP Mobile Devices "Ramiro Ponferrada" <RamiroPonferrada(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3ADB4CE9-C9CD-4153-A979-5350153BCD78(a)microsoft.com... > Hello, I can´t find the Windows Update Icon in my Moto Q 8 GSM with > Windows > Mobile 6. > > So I don´t know if my cell is upgrading automatically or not at all. > > The build in my cell as of March 17th is version 18325.0.6.3 > > Does anybody know how I could recover the icon on my cell ? > > Thanks, > > Ramiro
