From: Davoud on 12 Jul 2008 00:46 MacNN reported on Thursday that there is a software update named "Mac OS X Update for MobileMe" Version 1.1. MacNN showed a screenshot. No such update appears on any of my Macs. I have successfully used my MobileMe account on the WWW, synching Address Book and other data. What gives? Davoud -- Don't re-elect the past. Looks like we had premature release of MobileMe. I put the update onto my MacBook as it appeared, which installed OK, and for me, everything is working fine too. However, there appears to be a widespread problem with it, and many have now reported that the update seems to have been pulled. It also seems impossible to log into any accounts on the web sites too, either .Mac or MobileMe are all down. It's a case of being patient while they get sorted. -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.mac.com/andrewhewitt1/>

The MobileMe FAQ and other information on the Apple website also talks about a MobileMe system preference. I still have .mac, yet have been able to synch, etc. Dave -- There's a fine line between stupid and clever. ROT-13 for my e-mail address

MMe's sys pref pane reports the last sync was yesterday at 4am, but that's rubbish. I just overwrote MMe's data with my Mac's data a few minutes ago due to MMe calendar->iCal syncing not working. Has anyone had events created in MMe calendar show up in iCal? Not that there any point in doing so since alarms cannot be set there. This makes MMe calendar utterly useless for my purposes. MMe email - still no personal domains. Useless. The 'keep me logged in for two weeks' option upon logging in: broken. Push: broken. No events created in MMe calendar ever show up in iCal. The image links in Apple's own "An important message for .Mac members." email about the transition: broken. MMe in Webkit nightly build: broken MMe in Camino: broken. MMe in Safari: works... sometimes. Email forwarding from MMe to my jamiekg(a)wizardling.geek.nz account: broken in .Mac for months and STILL broken in MMe. No know email problems with my jamiekg(a)wizardling.geek.nz account and forwarding from other non-MMe accounts to jamiekg(a)wizardling.geek.nz works fine. Payment info in MMe to check out a weird credit card error I'm seeing in my MMe account page (.Mac had no problems with my card): nowhere to be found. I cannot believe how utterly broken and useless MMe is, even compared to ..Mac. .Mac may have been limited, but at least it worked :-( Regards, Jamie Kahn Genet -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.
