Since the club that I work at has had few shows recently, I had a chance
to get in the room & tweak the settings of our DRPA's. I have one at FOH
- before our house graphic, so I can store my own recallable EQ. The
other in in the amp rack, and used as an X-over.

For the first time, I used the Setup Wizard to choose speaker system &
amps. Until I entered the "Wizard", I didn't realize that the speaker &
amp settings did not reflect our system. We bought the system used, & I
used the settings that were in the X-over unit as it was purchased,
although I have, from time to time, adjusted X-over, EQ & Limiter settings.

These DRPA's don't have factory settings for our speakers - Community
SLS960 tops & JBL Custom Shop subs. So, I must use the Custom choice.
And they don't have amp settings for MacroTech 5002, but they do have
settings for MacroTech 5000. I understand that in the Wizard, the amp
choice will adjust for unity gain.

My first question is:
Is there much difference between MT5000 & MT5002?

My second question is:
Does the speaker choice adjust only the X-over? Or, does it also make EQ
settings that are not reflected in the Graphic & Parametric EQ windows?

My third question is:
For my FOH DRPA, how should I set it up to be just an EQ? I have it
setup as stereo in stereo passive out. Need I use Wizard to choose
Custom on Speaker & Amp settings?

My fourth question is:
What output voltage is considered unity on pro audio, 0.775V?

Thanks,
Denny

I for got to mention that the amp choice in Wizard is intended to
maximize headroom. But the manual doesn't say how.

So my next question is:
Does anyone know how it does this?

Thanks again,
Denny

The Wizard only cares about the gain of the amp, and that it is
powerful enough to not clip before the limiter kicks in. The MA5000VZ
and the MA5002VZ both can have a gain (with the gain knob full up) of
26dB, 37dB, or 42dB. As far as the DRPA is concerned they are
interchangeable.
