From: PA Bear [MS MVP] on 1 Jul 2008 16:25 Post the complete error message, and tell us if this account has ever worked in OE. That error usually indicates problems on the POP3 server, not in OE. Such problems usually clear up automagically in a few hours or days. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ normski wrote: > Hi my e-mail address cannot be collected in outlook express each time i > try > a message appears saying an unknown error has occured Protocol: POP3,port > 110,Secure(SSL): No,Error Number 0x80004005 . > Strange thing is my daughter can send & recieve all of hers, but mine just > will not, i've removed my e-mail address & then added back it into > outlook express but without any luck could anyone please help? > thank you in advance > normski

From: PA Bear [MS MVP] on 1 Jul 2008 19:24 The Account's name is incorrect. See the instructions here: http://www.btopenworld.com/faqs/manual_email_setup#pc If your email address is, e.g., normski(a)btinternet.com, the Account name in Step #6 would be "normski" (w/out the quotes). You currently have "mail.btinternet.com(1)" entered there. normski wrote: > hi PA here is the complete message an unknown error has occured.
