I got Mandirva 2006 RC2 and it wont let me boot into setup. my system is
this:

System Model Dell DXP051
PENTIUM D 820 Dual Core
1 gig mem
160 gig sata hd
120 gig ide hd(want to install linux on this one)
if you want any more info just ask

It would be better to use the final version of 2006, rather than a release
candidate (RC2).
What do you mean by "wont let me boot"?
Are you having trouble booting off the install CD? Have you adjusted
settings in BIOS?

Hello,
I would try to boot with a Knoppix livecd and see how the booting process
starts, then probably, like with Suse on some systems, boot with the noacpi
option.
