Can not figure out...... Have been using a dial up for many year. XP with 3com megahertz Lan + 56K Ethernet interface. Everything has been running fine. Setting program for internet access At one time I had set up which type of internet access I wanted windows to use if a program called for internet access. At the time I only had a dial up access through AOL. I now have a DSL access and want to change that preference to use dial up only as a last resort. cannot re-connect to internet The first time I connect after start-up there is NO PROBLEM. But if I dis-connect manually, then try to re-connect later, I get a message "all devices connected", and must re-start my system. DNS Client/Hosts File I've read disabling DNS Client & using a good Hosts file provides safer & faster web browsing. I'm using IE7. internet problem When I try to connect to my dial-up connection, it dials like normal. However, when I go to Internet explorer, it says the page cannot be displayed.
