I'm building a new system and need some advice. Below are the specs:

CPU:
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Quad Core LGA775 45nm Penryn Processor, 3.0GHz,
12M L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB
Mobo:
Asus P5E3 Deluxe Motherboard - Intel X38, Socket 775, ATX, Audio, PCI
Express 2.0, CrossFire Ready, Dual Gigabit LAN, S/PDIF, USB 2.0, Firewire,
eSATA, RAID
Memory:
Patriot 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel
Kit Desktop Memory Model PDC34G1333LLK
Video Card (Dual Crossfire):
Diamond 3850 256MB ATi Radeon HD 3850 3850PE3256 PCI-Express 2.0 X16 Video
Card with CrossfireX, Dual DVI, TV-Out, UVD, PowerPlay, DirectX 10.1
Hard Drive(s):
Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10,000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150
Hard Drive (x2 for RAID 0 Volume #1 - OS Drive)
Western Digital WD10EACS Caviar GP 1 TB SATA II 3.5-Inch Hard Drive (x2 for
RAID 0 Volume #2 - Storage Drive)
Case:
SILVERSTONE TJ09-BW Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Power Supply:
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad (Crossfire Edition) EPS12V 750W Power
Supply
DVD-CD Burner:
SAMSUNG 20X DVDR DVD Burner Black PATA Model SH-S202G (black to match case)
FDD:
Samsing (black to match case)
OS Install Disk:
Windows XP Pro SP1

Here are my questions:

First, I am assuming you can have more than 1 internal SATA RAID 0 voulme on
the P5e3 Deluxe right? I plan to use the 2 SATA WD Raptors for the OS hard
drive on one RAID 0 volume and the two 1TB WD SATA drives for a 2TB RAID 0
storage drive.

Second, assuming I setup like I said above, is it best to have each of the 4
SATA HDD's on one SATA cable each, or can I put two on the same cable...or
does it matter?

Third, this is my first build using crossfire. The two Diamond cards seem
easy enough to install, but my worry is on the initial bootup. I will be
doing a fresh OS install on the RAID 0 volume withthe two Raptors. I know I
need a floppy with the RAID drivers for OS install, but what about the video
cards? I could not find a manual for the two video cards online. In other
words, will my monitor work if I plug the monitor cable into the master
video card without any OS installed?

And finally, with the new SATA optical drive, will my Windows XP Pro install
CD recognize that DVD/CD drive since it's SATA? The XP Pro install CD I
have includes only SP1.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

You CANNOT put more than one SATA device on its cable.

Thanks. I'm new to SATA also.

That answers one question.

I know that Win XP Pro SP2 will install on SATA HD because I did it. I
recall from my pre-build research that SP2 is required for SATA
support. SP1 does not have it.

Since I don't ever want to see VISTA, I too am wondering about booting
the XP Pro CD from a SATA optical drive.

What I've learned so far (haven't finished my research) is that in
order to boot a Windows Setup CD from an optical drive, you will need
to have a motherboard & BIOS that has native support for SATA.

Yes, XP (and Vista) install disks will boot from a SATA CD/DVD RW.
