From: "American Voter" American on 4 Jul 2008 05:39 For some reason I am now getting this error popup: Outlook Express could not post your message. Subject '(No Subject)', Account: 'localhost ', Server: 'localhost', Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: '441 Posting Failed (Required "Subject" Header is missing)', Port: 8119, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 441, Error Number: 0x800CCCA9 The message still posts but I would like to get rid of this popup. Anyone with some knowledge of this? TIA AV
From: Ken on 4 Jul 2008 07:35 There may be a message stuck in your outbox. Close OE and delete = outbox.dbx and then OE will make a new one. From: Michael Santovec on 4 Jul 2008 15:03 That says that you are trying to post a message without a Subject. Assuming that you aren't regularly doing that, there is different message in the Outbox that is failing to post. Select the Outbox folder, then View, Current View, Show all Messages. Highlight the problem message and press delete. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "American Voter" <American Voter(a)work.not> wrote in message news:Odmbk.6527$lU5.5125(a)newsread1.mlpsca01.us.to.verio.net... > For some reason I am now getting this error popup: > > Outlook Express could not post your message. A lot of anti-virus and other programs set to scan email will screw up this setting like that. 2. 441 you need to fill in a subject. 3. Never heard of a new server using port 8119. 4. 0x800CCCA9 NNTP_POST_FAILED Unable to post to server. -- Frank Saunders MS-MVP IE,OE/WM Do not reply with email
