i am using Fireworks CS3 and need help

i have an image that i am trying to convert for a letterhead, i have
created a mask of the image ,but edge is not as smooth as i would like

how do i smooth the edge

also how do i add a 1-3 pixel border to the edge of the image???

tried adding PNG attachment - but text only group
