From: BigAl.NZ on 22 Jan 2008 01:27 HI Folks, I have been using Norton Ghost for sometime now to clone disks and are really impressed with its ability to clone/image disks that have some fairly serious errors (whereas the likes of Acronis always just seems to crash!) Anyway I want to import a disk image into VMware converter and thus to a virtual PC. VM Converter only seems to support sv2i files, but Norton Ghost 12 is only creating a v2i file for me. I have done some googling and v2i seems to be the image file, with the accompanying sv2i file containing configuration information??? Does anyone know how to get Ghost 12 to create the sv2i file? Cheers -AL

You're better off with a forensic cloner like CloneDisk in that situation. > Anyway I want to import a disk image into VMware converter and thus to a virtual PC. > VM Converter only seems to support sv2i files, but > Norton Ghost 12 is only creating a v2i file for me. > I have done some googling and v2i seems to be the image file, with > the accompanying sv2i file containing configuration information??? Corse it does. > Does anyone know how to get Ghost 12 to create the sv2i file? You cant, it wont do that.
