How do I (consecutively) number a whole load of files in a folder - eg if I
have 600 files how can I quickly and easily number them from 001 to 600?

OH!!!!! within windows XP.

With a batch file renamer program. There are several out there, like
renamer, etc (check with a Google search or at places like download.com)
