From: Mr. Bro on 14 Apr 2008 11:10 Maybe someone can explain why ASUS supplies their SATA cables so long. Why would I need a 18" cable when the HD is only 6" away? Makes for a blockage for air flow in a case. Have found shorter cables on line. Anyone have any comments on this situation. Mr. Bro

There are some drive bays in my Lian Li case that could certainly make use of the full 18 inches if I needed to use them. The extra length, in your case, would allow you to route the cable in a manner that doesn't obstruct the airflow. And, are you sure you're talking about SATA cables and not PATA cables? SATA cables have hardly any cross section at all to cause any significant airflow obstruction. Hobo
From: Mr. Bro on 14 Apr 2008 20:43 I would agree with you to a point. I have 2 SATA drives in an Antec P182 case and they are right above the SATA connection on the ASUA P5K Deluxe MB. Rerouting is not an option in this case, still have to bundle them up.
