Geesh,

I've been visiting this NG for close to 10 years. I've taken days,
months, and for a time, a couple years off from AAPLS, for various reasons.

There has always been some flaming. But, since I've come back as a
regular this year, I've noticed that the flaming has been extreme. Most
regulars here have much to share, but sometimes it's difficult to
ascertain that fact.

Is all the name calling & insults necessary? I can't see how. Graham has
made fun of me at times; but I could tell that it was in good humor, and
had a good laugh at myself - and his dry sense of humor.

On the other hand, some posts on this NG have no purpose but to insult.
And the flaming is contagious; I've found myself making less than
positive posts at times. I'd like to suggest that we all refrain from
responding to the flaming posts. It only encourages the flamers to
continue.

I vow to try to keep myself in check. I think I've done a fairly decent
job, for the most part. When I've replied to the flaming, I've only
tried to bring it to the attention of others that there is no need for
insults. And I tried to do it without insulting others, unless stating
the facts insults others. If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Can't we all try to get along; and share our intelligence rather than
our ignorance? Then we might have NG that encourages dialog that
actually discusses Live-Sound, rather than gratuitous insults.

Many of the old regulars no longer post here, because of the flaming.
Can't we all try to get along?

And, BTW, there is a thing called Google Search.

It seems unlikely. Egos, grudges and insecurity seem to be the drivers
for most of the posts here. Barely a thread goes by without it being
dragged into a slagging match or a bout of one-up-man-ship.

I doubt very much whether the people responsible will find sufficient
meaningful discourse elsewhere that they stop grandstanding here. But
you get nothing if you don't ask so I'll second your motion.

Cheers,

Honed by years of experience !

I'm pleased you see the funny side. There's only a couple on here who are IMHO
a shame to the group and even one of them still gives at least half decent
advice. I suspect you already know who I think they are.

The superfluous insults are largely inexcusable but Australians have a habit
that way.

** One of them is YOU - Stevenson.

YOU are a disgrace, a monstrous charlatan and fake, an insufferable
egomaniac and pox on the face of the planet.

You spread your PIG IGNORANCE about with every post impeding the flow of
real information.

Get off usenet and stay off.
