Has anyone successfully used an external GPS antenna with an HP hw6900
series PDA? (Mine is an hw6915).

does that ppc have a gps specific antenna jack?

If not, there are some "repeater" external antennas which have heard
work ok... essentially an external antenna connected pad which you place
near the gps.

There is an antenna jack socket (I beleive MMCX) covered by a small
rubber plug on the back of the PDA. Also there is a vendor on Ebay
who sells a GPS antenna which he claims works with the hw6915.

The HP documentation for the 6915 does not mention any of this.

Reason I ask is that if it is a phone device, the jack may be for the
phone and not the gps.

I don't have specific answers, just suggesting that you confirm that it
is a gps connection (in the manual) before trying any connector to avoid
possible damage.

The problem is - tha manual does not mention this connector - and
there is nothing abut it on any of the HP support sties/forums etc!
