Hey David, what are you running now as far as anti-malware-virus-adware-firewall now. It's been a
long time since I've seen you post anything on the subject, but I probably just missed it.
"Residentially" speaking, I'm running Online Armor, Malwarebytes (full version), Avira. Is an anti-
adware program really needed? Also, I have mbamservice.exe running, but not mbamgui. I'm pretty
sure I'm protected, but I never know if Mbam is "working", since I never get notices. Is there a
site to go to that will test my protection? I went to this one site, but it just seemed like it was
specifically for Malwarebytes tests. I'd like to get a third party involved... something along the
lines of grc.com. Thanks.

Al:

I still run AntiVir. I have MBAM installed only because I use it to check files against
and then submit those that are not detected by MBAM to MalwareBytes.

Stay away from GRC :-)

No great detail required, but I'm curious enough to ask why. I used
the ShieldsUp page and read quite a bit of information there back in
the 98SE days.

Peopple think that GRC is some kind ou security site. It ain't. Gebson is a scare
monger.
There are REAL COMSEC and INFOSEC sites out there.

Gibson is just someone who created SpinRite. A software that as sold to modify the the
interleave of MFM/RLL drives when there was freeware that did it.

GRC is like a cult-thing.
