Office 2007 files are really zip files containing XML and other contents. Because they're zip files, they're automatically compressed, typically to 25% of the size of the expanded contents. The Office 2003 format is not compressed at all. If you want to compare apples and apples, zip the 2003 file -- the result will probably still be larger than the 2007 equivalent, but the difference won't be so dramatic. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
