From: Michael on 28 Apr 2008 12:32 This is most frustrating and if somebody knows the solution, i would greatly appreciate it. Mobile users use offline files for their redirected "My Documents" I have decommissioned some servers and no matter what I do, offline files still remembers those servers and tries to sync with them. I have: Deleted the Offline cache, rebooted.....no good. Deleted offline cache, turned off offline files, rebooted, re-enabled offline files....no good Deleted offline cache, turned off offline files, rebooted, located the references to the old server in the registry, reboot, turned offline back on....no good This is especially frustrating when a user changes office locations and attempts to sync across the WAN. I am in the process of moving user folders to a DFS share, but the damn thing will still try and sync with the original server as well as the DFS share. I am about to use one of my free Professional support incident with Microsoft from my Technet Subscription and make Bill solve this. Thanks in advance, Michael

Once you know exactly what's needed, one solution might be to roll-out a .reg file of new settings from the login script. From: Michael on 29 Apr 2008 12:05 I appreciate the reply, however, this does not necessarily apply to my situation. Likewise, this is a PRE SP2 hotfix which was included in SP2. I am still searching. -M- "Anteaus" <Anteaus(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:065D0B48-E78F-4D93-A360-89D82F53111B(a)microsoft.com... > These pages might be of help: > > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811660 > > http://www.msfn.org/board/Howto-DISABLE-Enable-Offline-Files-by-reg-files-t58520.html > > http://kbalertz.com/811660/Files-Offline-Files-folder-Windows-computer-synchronized-another-person-computer.aspx > > Seems that the 'NetCache' registry key plays an important role, and you > might find your answer there. In Explorer, under Folder Options, Offline Files tab, press Ctrl-Shift and click Delete Files. Answer Yes or OK. This will re-initialize the cache and on reboot the old server will be gone. -- Terry R. ***Reply Note*** Anti-spam measures are included in my email address. From: Michael on 29 Apr 2008 19:57 Terry, Thanks. I have done that, and after the reboot, the old servers are still listed in the SYnc Manager setup. Likewise, it still pops up to say that "Server is still offline. Click here to reconnect". Especially frustrating when the server no longer exists.
